A Simple Dream, A Strategic Mission
It began with a simple dream: to plant a multiplying church in Athens, Ohio. As Ekklesia Athens took root, our focus on disciple-making began to shape a new kind of spiritual community—one with a heart for the next generation.
God soon laid a specific mission on our hearts: the campus of Ohio University. We believe the college campus is one of the most strategic mission fields in America—a place where future leaders, thinkers, and world-changers are formed.
In response, God granted us His favor by sending two campus missionaries to launch Encompass Campus Ministry. Today, Ekklesia and Encompass operate as one unified team—one church with one mission: to make disciples who make disciples, and to build a multi-generational, multiplying church that deeply loves and serves the campus.
After two years of intentional training and investment, we are now seeing the fruit: students becoming disciple-makers, lives being transformed, and a growing movement of people living on mission together.

Encompass Campus Ministry exists to reach students at Ohio University with the life-changing power of the gospel. We believe college is a pivotal season of life—full of questions, decisions, and opportunities that shape a person’s future. In that space, we want every student to encounter Jesus, experience authentic community, and discover their God-given purpose. Through weekly gatherings, one-on-one discipleship, and small group communities, we help students build a solid foundation of faith and learn what it means to follow Jesus in every area of life.
But we don’t stop at helping students know Jesus—we equip them to live on mission for Him. Our desire is to train students to become disciple-makers wherever they go, whether on campus, in their future careers, or around the world. We believe the gospel transforms not only individuals but also the communities they touch, and students are uniquely positioned to carry that transformation forward. Encompass is more than a ministry—it’s a movement of young people rising up to live boldly for Christ, together.
